Exclusive notes for premium subscribers with thoughts, ideas, and behind-the-scenes updates on investing, dividends, business, and life.
Hi, partners — Max here.
I want to share some behind-the-scenes updates with you. You’re Premium Partners, so I want to tell you more about what we’re doing, what the team is working on, and what I’m personally working on.
Today is a good time for that because the past few weeks have been busy.
First of all, the company scores on the MaxDividends platform have been updated.
Both the Financial Score and the Dividend Score are now up to date. Twice a year, as new financial reports are released, we update company scores and adjust our portfolios and top lists according to our established framework, unless something extraordinary happens.
After scanning 19,000 companies - 19,718, to be exact - the first thing I did was update our key lists. The main one we use for decision-making is the Buy-Hold-Sell List. A new edition came out yesterday. In case you missed it, the link is below.
There’s also a link to the spreadsheet inside, and of course, the latest data and current link are always available in the MaxDividends Research Platform under Tools.
Next, I started reviewing the Top Dividend Eagles list.
As a reminder, these are U.S. and international companies that have paid dividends for more than 15 consecutive years while increasing them every year. But not every company with that kind of record makes the top list. Only companies that meet our selection criteria are included: a Business Quality Score of 90+, a Dividend Safety Score of 90+, plus the selection criteria from the MaxDividends Income System 5-step formula checklist.
I personally spent two days reviewing 200 companies and checking every parameter, and I’m happy with the final result.
The updated Dividend Eagles list is ready and, as always, available in the MaxDividends Research Platform under Tools.
Right now, I’m working on updating my watchlist. It’s also available on the platform, but please be patient - the updates will be there later today or tomorrow.
The latest updates, ideas, and news are available, as always, in our Premium WhatsApp Community.
Access is included with your Premium subscription. I invite you to join if you haven’t already - the link is below.
As for the platform
Our moderation team is currently working hard to verify historical dividend payments and data for U.K. companies. We’re working on approximately 180 companies from the U.K. stock market. For each one, we’re checking the payment history, amounts, payment currencies, collecting official confirmations, and uploading everything to the platform. Because data matters.
Next, we’ll move on to Canadian companies and verify historical data for companies in the Canadian market. This will most likely happen sometime in the first half of September.
The development team is currently focused mainly on building the architecture for complex cases. For example, a company completed a spin-off, separating part of its business into a new company, while also carrying out a stock split and announcing a dividend increase at the parent company. O_o
Here’s another feature we recently completed: the automatic recalculation of adjusted prices to account for stock splits while preserving the continuity of the company’s dividend payment history.
There are quite a few cases like this, but as true dividend geeks, we work through every one of them because quality matters.
And one more interesting thing
The last update for today. We’ve actually been collecting real-time statistics on company scores and all major metrics for more than five years so we can analyze historical trends and statistical data.
I’ll be sharing a very interesting report on this soon. I’ll post the link in the community first, so make sure to join!
Take care,
Max
